For scientific founders and biotech CEOs facing commercial questions they have never had to answer before.
It is shaped by the quality of the decisions a company makes when uncertainty is highest and there is no playbook to follow. By the time most companies hire a commercial leader, the calls that matter most have already been made.
Scientific rigor got the asset here. Commercial rigor determines what it becomes.
Which asset or indication should we prioritize?
How do we position this asset to win?
How do we make the commercial case to the board, investors, and partners, so it holds up under scrutiny?
When do we start building commercial capability, and in what order?

A critical, hard-to-reverse commercial decision, made years before launch.

Heather Aspras is the founder of Kavros Advisors and a fractional Chief Commercial Officer for biotech. She has spent more than two decades in biopharma commercial strategy, spanning portfolio strategy, new product planning, pre-launch strategy, and commercial build-out across a range of therapeutic areas, including oncology, vaccines, and advanced therapies.
She has done that work at both ends of the industry, in global pharma organizations with established commercial models and in an early-stage biotech where she built the marketing team from scratch.
She serves on the External Review Committee for the Healthcare Investment Group at Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania. She holds an AB summa cum laude from Princeton University and an MBA with honors from The Wharton School.
